Heartland Farm Sanctuary is a unique place and I was thrilled to get involved as a volunteer. I have been designing their newsletter and other materials since 2014, and I attend their events every chance I get. I love animals and Heartland gives me the chance to spend time with a wide variety of ADORABLE animals such as Baby the Turkey, Lily the pig, and Amy the sheep. The volunteers that take care of the animals work hard in all sorts of weather to make sure these animals finally get the respect and care that they have always deserved but never had received. Recently Heartland saved hundreds of roosters and hens from a busted cock-fighting ring! Read MORE. You'll never find a more big-hearted group of folks than at Heartland. They have frequent fun events, barn tours, summer camps for children, volunteer opportunities for all ages, and MORE. "Heartland Farm Sanctuary, which opened in 2010, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless farm animals in Wisconsin, and building connections between animals and vulnerable youth. We created Heartland to provide a safe, peaceful environment where youth and farm animals could come together to heal, grow, and have fun."
